To remove the progress box that appears during the print process, you will need to add the following key to your registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Print-2-Image\FileOptions]"ShowProgress"="0"
Warning: If you are not familiar with adding keys to your registry, please have someone familiar with the registry do this for you. Editing with the registry may lead to serious system problems. For additional assistance, please feel free to contact technical support.
I have a multi-sheet Microsoft Excel Document with charts on separate pages. When I print the entire workbook to Print-2-Image, I only get the last few pages of my document. Why?
When Excel encounters a page where the format changes from chart to worksheet or worksheet to chart, it sends a new print job to the printer. If you have autofilename enabled on your Print-2-Image properties, only the last print job will be included in your output file because each print job will overwrite the previous one.
In later versions of Print-2-Image (6.0.0.122 or higher), this problem may be avoided by checking the "Automatic Sequential Number" box in the Print-2-Image properties screen under the File Options tab.
Microsoft Word hangs after I print to Print-2-Image. How can I fix this?
Microsoft Word has a default feature called Background Printing, which pushes any printer dialog boxes to Microsoft Word’s background during printing. When Print-2-Image is set to Manual File Naming, a "Save As" windows will pop up and require input in order for printing to continue.
If Microsoft Word is sized and positioned correctly, the Print-2-Image "Save As" window will be hidden behind the Microsoft Word window. To resolve this issue, perform the following:
- Disable Background Printing in Microsoft Word by clicking Tools > Options > Print and making sure that the Background Printing box is unchecked OR by going to File > Print and clicking the Options button, then un-checking the Background Printing box.
- Change your Print-2-Image print mode to Automatic File Naming.
How do I set up multiple user printing on Windows Server, or use the .ini file instead of the registry?
To set up multi-user printing from one computer you will have to disable Microsoft’s IniFileMapping for Print-2-Image. To disable the IniFileMapping follow these instructions:
- Open up the registry editor. (If you are not familiar with the registry, then it is suggested that you have someone complete this process for you.)
- Go to the following location in your registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\
- Delete the folder in this directory named: p2image.ini and close the registry editor.
- Print once using Print-2-Image and a p2image.ini file will be created in the WINNT folder and will now be used by all users on this workstation.
