The DM Alarms Module monitors DM Fax Server system performance indicators for errors and reports back to the system administrator in the event of an error. DM Alarms monitors performance indicators, including Windows counters and services, for abnormal behavior. In the event of an error, DM Alarms will immediately notify the system administrator, and if desired, will attempt to correct the error through action.
The DM Alarms Module is a rules-based application. You will have total control over how DM Alarms functions and operates. You will be able to create and implement rules to determine what to monitor, who to notify in the event of an error, which method to use for error alerts and notifications, and what actions to take for correcting the error. This type of architecture offers flexibility and complete customization for each unique network environment.
The DM Alarms Module monitors performance indicators and services on the DM Fax Server machine for irregularities in server operations. If an error is detected, DM Alarms will immediately notify the system administrator of the error. Error notifications can be delivered via:
In addition to error alerts and notification, DM Alarms can also attempt to correct errors through corrective actions. The rules-based architecture enables the system administrator to implement scenarios in which error correction should occur.
DM Alarms can take corrective action on both local and remote server(s). Corrective actions include:
The DM Alarms Module can be an integral component to any load-balanced or redundant DM Fax Server configuration. In load-balanced systems, the DM Alarms Module may be installed on each Remote DM Fax Gateway Server (fax board server). Each instance of DM Alarms monitors its remote counterpart. Similarly, in Disaster Recovery implementations, DM Alarms can be installed on each DM Fax Server system. In the event of an error, the system administrator is notified all while DM Alarms attempts to correct any errors that have occurred.
