Imecom Group, Inc. announces support for Brooktrout SR140 Series Fax over IP (FoIP) boardless technology
Wolfeboro, NH (February 15, 2006) - Imecom Group, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise fax server and electronic document delivery solutions, today announced that its DM Fax Server software version 8.x supports real-time fax over IP (FoIP) using the new SR140 boardless virtual fax board software from Brooktrout Technology. DM Fax Server supports the T.38, SIP, and H.323 protocols that make faxing over IP possible. Faxes are sent and received in real-time over an IP network.
It is estimated that there are over 100 million fax machines worldwide that communicate over the PSTN using the standard T.30 protocol used for fax communications. However, as companies continue to migrate from traditional PSTN-based telephony systems to voice over IP (VoIP) telephony systems, the demand for fax over IP (FoIP) solutions is increasing.
